Management accounting and farm management budgeting, including gross margins and cash flow budgets, are important skills to have available to farm businesses. Workshops are available to train participants in the understanding of management accounting and how to assess the financial strengths and weaknesses of their farming business.

Ri$ky Business

This is a very effective workshop to train farmers in managing risk and understanding the dynamics of grain trading. It is a computer-based simulation game which allows participants to start with the same 'farm' and play 5 seasons in a one-day workshop. Participants will experience the impact of their management decisions in an uncertain environment, which is the essence of farming. Risk management strategies and forward grain marketing will be tested. Simulation games like Ri$ky Business provide a very effective learning environment.
